The Election Commission of India has extended the date for the filing of applications, claims or objections to the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls to November 15.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal, the ECI has ordered the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls for those who have either completed 18 years of age or going to complete on or before January 1, 2013, to get enrolled as voters by filing applications via Form-6 to the Booth Level Officer, Tahsildar, Revenue Divisional Officer or Deputy Municipal Commissioner, or online at www.ceoandhra.nic.in on October 1, 2012 to verify the names and other details at all the above offices and online. As per the original scheduled, the last date for filing applications was October 31. Now the period has been extended till November 15.
Therefore, the claims and objections will also be accepted till November 15 at all designated locations by Boot Level Officers, AEROs (Mandal Offices), EROs (RDO Offices), Polling Station Locations in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Greater Visakhapantam Municipal Corporation, Guntur Municipal Corporation areas and Deputy Municipal Commissioner office. The said claims and objections will be disposed by December 15 and the final rolls will be published on January 5 next year.
Consequent on extension of last date for receipt of claims and objections, November 4 has been fixed as the date for additional special campaign day. The BLO of the Polling Station will be available along with Booth Level Agent appointed by the political parties on this additional special campaign day also at the respective polling stations to go through the voter lists with BLAs of recognised political parties and identify the corrections and to receive the applications, guide the applications and clear their doubts at the polling stations, Bhanwar Lal said.
