Women's Reservation In Next Assembly Elections: CM
The Telangana CM today said that 33% reservation for women in the Legislative Assembly would be active from the next Assembly elections in the State.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced that 33% reservation for women would soon be implemented in the Legislative Assemblies, and that the quota was set to be active in Telangana from the next Assembly elections in the State.
He said that that, in accordance with the Women's Reservation Bill, a total of 51 Assembly seats in Telangana would be reserved for women. The Congress planned to allocate nine more MLA seats to women, bringing the total number of party tickets for women to 60, which he would be responsible for distributing in the upcoming elections, he said.
The CM made this announcement after inaugurating Vana Mahotsavam 2025 by planting a sapling at the PJTSAU (Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University) on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the State government was committed to the empowerment of women, and had set a target of making one crore women millionaires. To this end, it was implementing several schemes aimed at their upliftment, including entrusting women with weighty responsibilities such as setting up solar plants and managing government schools.
The CM said that the government was offering free RTC bus travel for women, that women had been encouraged to rent out a fleet of 1,000 buses from the RTC effectively making them the owners of those buses, and that women's groups were also being given an opportunity to market their products at HITEC City, where multinational companies were located.
"Also, this year alone, Rs 21,000 crore worth of loans have been provided to women's self-help groups. SHGs will also be formed in urban areas soon. The government is making every effort to empower women across all fields, and ensure that they lead a life of dignity and self-respect under our regime," he claimed.
