Telangana Decision Will Be Delayed, Claims T G Venkatesh

Minor Irrigation Minister T G Venkatesh on Monday said that the Centre was likely take to a decision on Telangana statehood issue six months before the 2014 general elections.

Talking to media persons at the Secretariat, Venkatesh reminded that subsequent governments at the Centre had announced crucial decisions only before the elections.

He said that Seemandhra leaders would go to New Delhi in the first week of October pressing for a special financial package for backward areas development apart from discussing the Telangana issue.

Stating that there was no need to be afraid of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao staying in New Delhi and having consultations over the Telangana statehood issue, he said that Seemandhra leaders would also appeal to government to keep the State united. (INN)
