Panchayat Raj minister K Jana Reddy, on Tuesday, urged the Seemandhra leaders to cooperate in the "smooth division" of the state in order to result in the formation of a separate Telangana state.
Addressing a joint press conference along with Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha and others, Jana Reddy said that Seemandhra leaders should not create any hurdles in the formation of a separate Telangana state.
He said that Congress leaders from all the three regions should help the party high command in resolving the decade-old Telangana issue.
When asked whether he was confident of the Centre granting statehood for the Telangana region, Jana Reddy said that the Congress-led UPA government has held deliberations over the issue several times, and that it would soon announce its decision. (INN)
