Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram today launched his political party, and christened it Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS).
Shortly after the Central Election Commission accorded recognition to his party, Kodandaram announced the party at the JAC office today.
He said that he would release the party flag on April 4, and that the TJS formation meeting would be held on April 29 in Hyderabad. He called upon the people to attend the meeting in large numbers and make it a big success.
In the run-up to the meeting, there would be conferences, meetings and cultural programs held across the state from April 5, he said.
Several leaders were inclined to join his party, Kodandaram claimed. He said that the Telangana movement too place as a result of the aspirations of the people, and lamented that there was no respect for those aspirations any more after statehood. There was also no respect for democratic values in the new state, he said, pointing out that for example the CM was conducting review meetings without inviting the ministers concerned.
He also alleged that K Chandrashekar Rao was the only Chief Minister who stayed away from the Secretariat.
Kodandaram said that he had already appointed preparation committees for the public meeting to be held on April 29. He also said that his party had taken permission from the police for holding the meeting at either the Secunderabad Parade Grounds or the L B Stadium or the NTR Stadium or the Saroornagar Stadium.
He said that the TJS flag's colours would be white, blue and green to represent the farmers and workers.
Stating that he had floated the TJS only to fulfill the aspirations of the farmers and unemployed youth, Kodandaram said that he had no enmity with anyone.
