Telangana Jana Samithi founder-president M Kodandaram today agreed to work with the Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections.
After a meeting with TPCC chief Revanth Reddy, Kodandaram gave the green signal to working with the Congress, and pledged the TJS' complete support to the party.
Speaking to mediapersons after his meeting with Revanth Reddy, Kodandaram said, "The Telangana Jana Samithi will stay away from contesting the elections to support the Congress and prevent the division of anti-incumbency votes."
"We will work with the Congress to end CM K Chandrashekar Rao's rule, and bring freedom and independence to Telangana. A joint program has been created by us and we will work together for a democratic governance," he said.
He urged the people to understand their decision and cooperate with them.
Revanth Reddy said that he had come to seek the support of the TJS for the Congress, and that Kodandaram had assured him that he would stand by him till he achieved the target of ridding the State of KCR and his family. He said that Kodandaram's cooperation was necessary to rid the State of the pest, and the suffering that had gripped it.
"We will work together to form a people's government in the State. We will appoint a coordination committee in the future and move forward," he said. He added that the TJS would have a key position in the "next Congress government".
Reddy also alleged that their phones were being both tapped and hacked, and that KTR and KCR were trying to control the Congress through that.
