Responding to the sarcastic statements of senior Congress leaders that one of them would become
Bahubali (the hero in a superhit Telugu film of the same title) and vanquish Kattappa (Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao) in the 2019 Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today retorted saying that the real Bahubali was KCR himself, who was invincible.
Participating in a membership campaign in Wardhannapet in Warangal district on Sunday, Srihari said that the Congress leaders, who lacked direction, and commitment towards the welfare of people and the development of the State, were making cheap statements and lowering their prestige.
"I pity them for making ridiculous statements and building castles in the air," he said, adding that the Congress leaders would disappear into thin air after the implementation of the budget proposals.
Stating that drought-prone Mahbubnagar district was getting water for a second crop this year due to the indefatigable efforts of the Chief Minister, Kadiam claimed that the Congress leaders, the rulers in the previous regime, had converted the so-called Jala Yagnam into a Dhana Yagnam and pocketed several crores of rupees in broad daylight.
He said that while the Chief Minister was making all-out efforts to irrigate one crore acres in the state, the jealous Congress leaders were conspiring to sabotage the TRS' welfare and development programs. However, the wise people of the state would dash the Congress' dreams of coming back to power, to the ground.
Speaking at the meeting, MP B Vinod Kumar reminded the audiences that Warangal was the centre of the second round of the Telangana agitation and a strong force behind the TRS. Exuding confidence that the party would enroll one lakh members in the district, Vinod exhorted the party workers to take the TRS government's welfare and development programs to the masses for that purpose, and rebut the charges of the Opposition parties.
