Expressing happiness over the Oscar win for the song Naatu Naatu from the Telugu movie
RRR, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday conveyed his best wishes to the film's entire unit.
The Chief Minister said that the prestigious award was a matter of pride for all the Telugu people and all Indians.
The lyrics of Naatu Naatu mirrored the culture of Telangana, and depicted the taste of the Telugu people and the diversity in their lifestyle, KCR said.
He extended his wishes to music director M M Keeravani, lyricist Chandrabose, director S S Rajamouli, singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kalabhairava, actors Ram Charan Tej and NTR Jr, choreographer Prem Rakshit, producer D V V Danayya and others part of the composition and picturization.
KCR specially congratulated lyricist Chandrabose, who is a native of Challagarige village in Chityala mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, for bringing the earthiness of the Telugu language closer to the hearts of people world-wide through the song.
The CM said that Telugu films were not inferior to Hollywood movies any more in terms of production values and technology, and that the reputation of Telugu film industry, which had strong roots in Hyderabad, had spread across the world.
"It is a festival day for Telugu film lovers all over the world. I am happy that the Telangana government's efforts for the growth of the Telugu film industry are yielding greater results. Our government has been supporting the development and expansion of the Telugu film industry, and had offered special incentives to the industry, especially during the Covid pandemic. I am hoping that the Telugu film industry will continue the same trend in future and make more films with diverse stories that reflect the people's lives," he added.
Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan too congratulated the RRR team, and called the win a proud moment for Indian cinema.
Soundararajan said that the song Naatu Naatu reflected the true power of the native Telugu lyrics and music.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Governor Abdul Nazeer too congratulated Keeravani, Rajamouli and team. They conveyed their best wishes to the entire unit for the Oscar and thanked them for taking Telugu music to the global audience.
Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, and ministers K T Rama Rao, Srinivas Goud, Prashanth Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Indrakaran Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao were also among the political leaders congratulating the RRR unit.
