BRS, BJP Politicising Sandhya Theatre Incident: TPCC

Mahesh Kumar Goud slammed the BJP and BRS leaders for exploiting the Sandhya theatre incident to incite animosity towards the State government.
Hyderabad | 23rd December 2024
TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud today criticised the BJP and BRS leaders claiming that they were exploiting the Sandhya theatre incident for political gain and inciting animosity towards the State government.

"I urge the opposition parties to refrain from politicising the incident. The stampede is indeed distressing, and it should not be escalated into a larger issue," Goud said.

In a media briefing at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that the State government had permitted special screenings for the film Pushpa 2 featuring Allu Arjun, and that there should be no doubt regarding the Congress government's dedication to the growth of Tollywood.

The TPCC president also took the opportunity to criticize Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his "offending" comments regarding Dr B R Ambedkar. He called for the immediate removal of Shah from the Union Cabinet.

Goud also said that Parliament was the preeminent institution in a democratic system, and accused the BJP leaders of conspiring to tarnish the reputation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who was fighting to save the country's Parliamentary democracy.
