There seems to be no end to the hardships being encountered by the people on account of the demonetisation of big currency notes. The cash crunch continues to crush the middle and working class people even after five months.
Nearly 83% of the ATMs remain non-functional even today in Hyderabad, resulting in customers depending on the ATMs for emergency cash needs being left high and dry, and the businesses of several vendors suffering due to customers using cash very sparingly.
Hyderabad seems to have achieved the dubious distinction of being on the top in the matter of non-functioning of ATMs. The bank officials when confronted are expressing their inability and helplessness in ensuring availability of cash in ATMs, and are indulging in a blame game.
