MIM Floor Leader in the Telangana Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi today expressed serious concern over the cash crunch being faced by the citizens with all the ATMs remaining closed due to lack of cash.
Participating in the debate on the annual budget in the Assembly on Friday, the MIM leader wondered why there was no cash in the state though the Central government had been proclaiming that enough cash was being made available now and that the pangs of demonetization were over.
Owaisi further pointed out that the excuse being given by the banking institutions for this sorry state of affairs was that all the cash was routed to other election-bound states like UP and Goa.
"We are not bothered whether the money has gone to UP, Manipur, Goa or any other State. The Telangana government should take up the issue with the concerned authorities and ensure that enough money is made available in the ATMs," he said.
