The YSR Congress Party will organise a state-wide program over a period of two days - May 27 and May 28 - to protest against the (according to party members) unlawful detention of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for the past one year.
?The main rally will be held at Necklace Road in the city. Party leaders and party cadre will participate in the rally to vent their feelings against the unlawful arrest and detention of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy", party Deputy Floor leader Sobha Nagi Reddy told reporters on Sunday.
Dubbing the arrest of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as being part of a political conspiracy hatched by the ruling Congress party and the TDP, and one in which the CBI is being used as a tool to settle political scores, she said that party workers across the state will take part in a candle march on May 27.
"The party will also observe a one-day Deeksha at Indira Park from 10:00am to 5:00pm demanding the government to expedite the case", she said.
Sobha Nagi Reddy appealed to all the party workers to join the agitation program on both days, and in large numbers, to express solidarity in the effort to shed light on the unholy nexus of Congress and TDP in keeping Jagan away from the people.
She also requested participants to take enough precautions due to the continuing heat wave across the state.
Reiterating that TDP and Congress are working hand-in-hand to fight their common adversary - Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy - Reddy also said that the two parties fear a political debacle as the popularity of YSRCP and Jagan is growing with every passing day. (INN)
