Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Spokesman and former MLA Katakam Mruthyunjayam on Wednesday stated that YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is using the by-elections to cover up the corruption charges against him, and to save his illegally amassed properties from the inquiries of investigating agencies.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC Spokesman alleged that Jagan wants to strengthen his official position through the by-elections.
"He wants to use the by-elections to benefit his property, and not to serve people," Mruthyunjayam stated.
He also alleged that the Kadapa Lok Sabha candidate had never raised any problems faced the by people of his constituency during the time he was representing them in Parliament.
He also accused Jagan of using his ill-gotten money to influence voters of the constituency.
Expressing confidence that the Congress candidates - D L Ravindra Reddy and Y S Vivekananda Reddy - would win the by-elections, Mruthyunjayam said that the people of the constituency would vote for the leadership skills of Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
The PCC Spokesperson demanded that Jagan disclose his party manifesto and policies before the voting takes place.
