Former minister Dr. P Shankar Rao on Tuesday alleged that his cell phone was being tapped.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Shankar Rao alleged that his phone was being tapped on the instance of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP V Dinesh Reddy. He announced that he would approach the court against the phone-tapping.
Shankar Rao said that the Chief Minister was targeting him as he had criticized his "anti-people" ways. However, he said that as a Congress worker, he would continue to condemn the anti-people and anti-party policies of Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said that he was loyal towards the Congress party and not towards the Chief Minister.
Speaking about the issue of tainted ministers, he said that those facing allegations should quit voluntarily, to save the party's image. (INN)
