Jagan In Jail Due To His Own Misdeeds: Cong

The Congress slams YSRCP's insistence that the case against Jagan is politically motivated, and that he is being unlawfully detained.
Hyderabad | 27th May 2013
Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Dr. N Tulasi Reddy on Monday slammed the YSR Congress party for organising a two-day protest against the detention of Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Tulasi Reddy asked the YSRCP to clarify who the protest was aimed at.

He said that Jagan was in judicial custody following an investigation by the Central Bureau Of Investigation (with respect to the Disproportionate Assets case), and that Jagan's detention was linked neither to the government nor to the Congress.

Tulasi Reddy said that by organising protests, the YSRCP was trying to send a terribly wrong message to the public. Describing the protest as an attack on the judiciary, he questioned if this act of agitation goes on to show that the YSRCP has no faith in the judiciary.

The Congress spokesperson also suggested that Jagan and his party's leaders cooperate with the CBI so as to facilitate the investigative process, instead of slinging mud at the government or at the judiciary. (INN)
