The opposition's Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha was accorded a grand welcome at the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad on Saturday.
On his arrival at the airport, the 84-year-old Sinha was received by TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his cabinet colleagues, and TRS MLAs, MPs and leaders.
Sinha was taken in a huge bike rally by the the TRS leaders from the airport to Jalavihar on Necklace Road, where a meeting was organised in support of his candidature.
The police made massive security arrangements in view of the bike rally organised by the TRS.
Meanwhile, even though Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Revanth Reddy earlier announced that no leader from his party would meet Sinha, in a rude jolt to Reddy, senior leader V Hanumantha Rao was at the airport to welcome Sinha.
This has become a major topic of conversation in the State's politics, and the issue is likely to stir hornet's nest in the Congress in the days to come. The Congress high command is expected to serve a notice to VHR on the issue.
