The CBI special court will deliver its verdict on the bail petition of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, in the Disproportionate Assets case, on September 23.
The CBI court, on Wednesday, heard the arguments from the lawyers representing both the Central Bureau Of Investigation and Jaganmohan Reddy.
The CBI opposed Jagan's release on bail, apprehending that he might influence the witnesses. However, the investigating agency said that it has completed the probe within the 4-month deadline set by the Supreme Court, and that the trial would begin soon.
On the other hand, Jagan's lawyers contended that he should be released on bail as the CBI has completed its investigations.
Jagan has been lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison ever since his arrest on May 27 last year. (INN)
