Former Congress Kisan Cell President Gattu Ramachandra Rao on Thursday stated that former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy would launch an agitation to press for the government to resolve the delay in release of fee reimbursement funds for students from February 18th in the state capital.
Talking to media persons at Jaganmohan Reddy's residence, Ramachandra Rao said that the Kadapa leader would launch an agitation protesting the state government's indifferent attitude in releasing fee reimbursement arrears for those students who were pursuing engineering in private colleges.
The Congress leader charged that a few students had committed suicides being unable to continue their studies in the private colleges, as the government failed to reimburse their fees.
The farmers' leader said that Jaganmohan Reddy would also visit the residences of engineering student Vara Laxmi who committed suicide because of being unable to continue her studies, and enquire about her family members.
Vara Laxmi, a B Tech student had committed suicide because of her inability to continue with her education due to the non-release of reimbursement, Ramachandra Rao alleged.
However, the police maintains that the B Tech student was killed by fire due to a gas leak.
Ramachandra Rao called upon students' leaders and parents to participate in a large number in Jaganmohan Reddy's protest.
