Reacting to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu's
challenge to Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to move a no-confidence motion against the Congress, a YSR Congress Party leader slammed Naidu.
He pointed out that the TDP plays the role of the major Opposition party in the state since it won 91 of the 294 seats in the legislative assembly. He explained that the role of the Opposition party was to function as a watchdog and raise a hue and cry against the ruling party if it was found to go wrong.
He charged that the guarddog had transformed into a cunning fox, and that the people of the state would only chase the fox away.
The YSR Congress Party member hinted that Jagan may not move the no-confidence motion, and that the TDP cannot be trusted to support Jagan in the event that the motion was moved.
He alleged that the TDP was shooting "love letters" to the Congress, and holding discussions with Congress bigwigs such as Sonia Gandhi's Political Secretary Ahmed Patel, while demeaning the latter party in public.
