Launching a blistering attack on the TRS and the YSR Congress, TDP supremo and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today accused them of coming in the way of development of the residual state instead of extending cooperation.
Inaugurating the TDP's 34th Mahanadu at Gandipet, Naidu said that he had adopted a strategy for development of both the Telugu states.
"Though political parties indulge in politics, they should resolve issues through discussions for the development and welfare of the people," Naidu declared.
Turning the tables on his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao for trying to take potshots at the TDP, Naidu challenged KCR to a debate on the development of Hyderabad, which was what helped Telangana become a surplus State.
Making it clear that he was for the welfare of the both the states, Naidu maintained that he was pressing the Centre for the development of both the states as and when he was in the national capital.
"Let us sit across the table and find amicable solutions to key issues instead of raking up contentious issues and expressing differences which are of no use," he suggested to KCR.
He also expressed discontent at the previous Congress government at the Centre for its unplanned bifurcation that led to Andhra Pradesh getting into a deep financial crisis.
Naidu said that besides extending support for statehood for Telangana, the TDP had requested the previous Congress regime to do justice to residual AP, too, which was now facing a severe financial crisis and many other problems, he said.
"Though the Congress tried to bury us in both the states, the bifurcation ensured it ended up in the doldrums itself and bit the dust in both the states," he said, extending gratitude to the TDP leaders and workers for being with the party.
Naidu also lashed out at YSR Congress Party chief and the Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for creating hurdles in the development of the new capital by trying to block the land acquisition and related works, for petty politics.
He warned Reddy of dire consequences for his alleged association with the red sanders smugglers.
"Jagan failed to respond on the issue as he has connections with such criminal elements," he charged. (NSS)
