The issue involving BRS MLA Dr Thatikonda Rajaiah and woman sarpanch K Navya has taken a new turn.
The National Commission for Women and the Telangana State Women's Commission have taken suo moto cognizance of the news reports of Navya alleging that the Station Ghanpur MLA had been harassing her for a long time, and issued notices to the police asking for a report.
She had also lodged a complaint against the MLA, his PA Srinivas, MPP Nimma Kavitha and Navya's husband Praveen, and urged the police to take action against them.
The commissions have also issued notices to Ramya and asked her to submit evidence against the MLA at the Dharmasagar police station. It asked the Kazipet ACP to inquire into the issue and submit a report.
Things started when Navya approached the media and made sensational allegations against the MLA along with her husband. However, the dispute between the sarpanch and the MLA was amicably settled later on a promise that the MLA would provide Rs 25 lakh for the development of her village.
After a couple of days, she approached the MLA and told him that false publicity was being done against her that she took money from Rajaiah. Following this, she came to know that her husband Praveen had in fact taken Rs 7 lakh from the MLA, and that the MLA was also forcing her husband to execute an agreement for the provision of a total of Rs 20 lakh. Her husband asked her to withdraw her allegations against the MLA in the past to get the total money. Angered by this, she approached the police and lodged the complaint.
