In a bizarre incident, a woman lodged a complaint against her daughter for attempting to murder her grandson with the Chirala police.
According to Inspector Shesaiah, Shebari, a resident of Sai Colony, Epurupalem village, Chirala mandal in Prakasam district, complained that her daughter Chintalapudi Padmavati (32) had burnt her own son, 10-year-old Chintalapudi Revant, with a hot frying pan in an attempt to kill him.
Sheshaiah told said that Padmavati was living with one Yedarapati Annarao in Anandapeta in Chirala after leaving her husband Ramana one year ago.
Padmavati's son Revant was not accepting Annarao as his father despite her best efforts to bring the two closer.
Late on Saturday night, Padmavati scorched the boy with a hot frying pan to punish him for his obstinacy.
The boy ran away from the house and reached his grandmother Shebari's residence. Revant narrated his woes to his grandmother who took him to the police station and lodged a complaint against her daughter and her paramour, alleging that they were trying to murder him.
The police got the boy admitted to the Chirala government hospital.
The Chirala police registered an attempt to murder case. The police are now trying to nab Padmavati and Annarao who are absconding. Further investigations are on.
