Telangana IT and Industries Minister K Taraka Rama Rao today made a sensational statement that he would quit his ministerial post if the TRS failed to win in the Palair by-election on May 16. And he asked if Telangana PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy, who had claimed that the Congress would certainly win the by-election, too, would quit his post if the Congress candidate Sucharitha Reddy was defeated in the election (the election is taking place due to the death of the sitting Palair Congress MLA Ramredddy Venkat Reddy, the husband of Sucharitha Reddy).
KTR was campaigning for the Palair Assembly constituency in the Khammam district.
Stating that the Congress had gotten habituated to getting defeated now, he alleged that it was trying to win in the name of sympathy now. He also claimed that the Congress had neither moral values nor felt any responsibility, and was blindly contesting the polls. Farmers and the people had flooded the roads in protest for fertilizers, seed and power when the Congress was in power, he said giving an example, and to no avail. The situation had however completely changed as the TRS government overcame the power problem in a short time and also put adequate stocks of fertilizers and seed for farmers, he claimed.
Nageshwar Rao would strive to develop the Palair constituency and the Khammam district further if voted to power, he promised.
