Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday said that she would like to converse with the people of the State in their own language, and expressed confidence that she could pick up the Telugu language in another fortnight.
The Governor, who took charge on Sunday, went round the various wings of the Raj Bhavan on Monday and interacted with the officers and staff members.
She said that soon after her appointment as the State Governor and before coming to Hyderabad, she had studied the socio-economic issues of the State, since she wanted to be perfectly conversant with the milieu and issues here.
Being a medical doctor, the Governor wanted the staff members to be perfectly fit personally, and explained to them that she did yoga every day and walked extensively. She said that she expected all the Raj Bhavan employees too to follow those practices and maintain good health.
Soundararajan also said that she would like to move in a friendly manner with the employees but at the same time expected them to be perfect in the discharge of their duties.
The Governor went round the Raj Bhavan library and appreciated the mobilization of the books, and said that her personal library too had some 5,000 books which would soon be added to the library here.
