BRS Ruined Telangana, Congress Reviving It: Governor

Tamilisai Soundararajan blasted the previous BRS government in her address at the 75th Republic Day celebrations at the Public Gardens.
Hyderabad | 26th January 2024
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan today said that the Congress government was reconstructing the ruined constitutional bodies that had been destroyed during the last ten years, and that it was reviving constitutional merits, systems and practices.

Addressing the 75th Republic Day celebrations at the Public Gardens, the Governor said that the Telangana people had put an end to the 10-year dictatorial government run against the constitutional spirit in the recently held Assembly elections, and that a people's government had been formed in the State.

"The people's mandate declared that arrogance and autocracy have no place in Telangana State," Soundararajan said. "Unilateral decisions and dictatorial approaches are against the principles of democracy. The newly elected people's government had started functioning with full consciousness. The State government is striving to deliver equal opportunities, render social justice, and grant freedom to all sections of the people."

The Governor also said that the previous BRS government had completely neglected employment and livelihood opportunities for the youth, and that the current government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was paying special attention to providing jobs to the youth.

"The process of reforming the Telangana State Public Service Commission is in progress. Job recruitment will be taken up by the government soon after the completion of the process," Soundararajan said, and appealed to the youth not to have any doubts or suspicions about the government's sincerity in providing jobs.

She also said that the government was holding talks with banks for the implementation of the Rs 2 lakh agriculture loan waiver scheme for farmers, and that it would complete the waiver in a planned manner.

She added that the government was also working to fulfil the promise of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, and had already deposited the money into the bank accounts of small and medium farmers.

"The top priority of this government is to realise the people's aspirations and their welfare, and deliver welfare benefits to every eligible beneficiary," Soundararajan said.
