"What is my fault? Why did you punish me though I did nothing wrong?" Uppal MLA Bethi Subhash Reddy asked BRS party president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today.
Speaking at a press conference, Reddy, who has been denied the party ticket for the upcoming Assembly elections, slammed the Chief Minister for that, and said that he had been victimised in the party without doing anything wrong.
"I have been in the party since 2001. I have been the only leader in the party in the GHMC limits since its launch. Even Padma Rao, who is considered to be a senior leader in the BRS, joined the party after me. And even though despite being my junior he served as a minister, I remained a staunch supporter of the party and spent my hard-earned money for the development of the party," he said.
Reddy also said that he had run the Telangana movement through a difficult phase, and had strengthened the party in the Uppal constituency.
"And when someone becomes an MLA, their assets increase. But I have sold properties after becoming an MLA. All my hard-earned money has been spent for the development of the party. However, unfortunately, the party tickets have been given to those who have earned money illegally," the MLA added.
He also asked Chief Minister how the Uppal ticket was given to to Bandaru Lakshma Reddy, who had never carried the flag of the BRS and had worked all his life in the Congress. He also said that the BRS leadership hadn't spoken with him before giving the ticket to Lakshma Reddy.
The Uppal MLA said that he would take a decision on his future course of action in a week after speaking with his supporters.
