HMWSSB has decided to enhance the tariff to commercial, industrial and water-based industrial consumers.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has decided to enhance the tariff to commercial, industrial and water-based industrial consumers.
The revised rate per kilo litre of water for commercial consumers will be Rs. 40 (0-15 kilolitres), Rs. 70 (16-100 kilolitres), Rs. 100 (101-200 kilolitres) and Rs. 100 (above 200 kilolitres for the entire quantity). The revised rate for commercial consumers outside the GHMC area will be Rs. 180 per kilo litre for the entire quantity, although there will be no sewerage cess.
Similarly, the revised tariff for industrial consumers will Rs. 50 (0-15 kilolitres), Rs. 80 (16-100 kilolitres) Rs. 120 (101-200 kilolitres) and Rs. 120 (above 200 kilolitres for the entire quantity). The tariff for industrial consumers outside the GHMC area will be Rs. 180 per kilo litre for the entire quantity.
Likewise, the tariff for industrial (water based) customers will be Rs. 200 per kilo litre for the entire quantity and Rs. 240 per kl for those based outside the GHMC area.
Consumers based within GHMC limits in all the categories will also have to pay sewerage charges of 35% on the water demand, while there will be no sewerage cess for consumers outside the GHMC area.
The board has also decided to simplify documentation for water supply connections, regularize illegal water supply connections and provide a one-time interest waiver for consumers, as detailed below.
The documentation required to be submitted for taking a 15mm dia water supply connection has been simplified. Now, applicants who are the real owners of the premises or lessess, without any legal problems, but do not possess documents like regd. sale deed, lease deed, gift deed, partition deed, settlement deed or house site patta issued by the Tahsildar, can file an affidavit (indemnity bond) on a Rs. 100 non-judicial stamp paper duly notarized in the prescribed format, with an electricity bill along with the application.
Further, the regularization of illegal water supply connections VDS 2014 is applicable only for premises which have not had water supply connections earlier. This scheme will be in force up to 31 March 2014.
The board has also decided to waive off the entire interest amount for consumers who clear their entire dues before 31 March 2014. (INN)
