Was Arrested To Stop "T-Save" Unemployed Hunger Strike: Sharmila

The YSRTP founder-president alleged that the government had arrested her in order to prevent her from holding her T-Save hunger strike of the unemployed.
Hyderabad | 26th April 2023
YSRTP founder-president Y S Sharmila today alleged that the State government had arrested her in order to prevent her from holding her "T-Save" hunger strike of the unemployed.

Addressing a gathering at the hunger strike program being held at Dharna Chowk in Indira Park, Sharmila said that she had approached the High Court as the government did not allow her to hold her protest. However, the State government had tried to stop her protest even after she secured the court's permission for it, and created a ruckus when she was trying to go to SIT office, she claimed.

She also alleged that the entire police force was used to stop a woman leader.

She said that there were no orders with the police to keep her under house arrest.

She asserted that she was fighting for the unemployed youth, and that she was waging a war on behalf of the people of the State as the opposition parties were remaining silent on their problems.

She also claimed that it was she who had pointed out the problem of unemployment in the State.

Talking about the TSPSC question paper leak case, she alleged that the SIT had shown only 19 underlings as accused in the case, leaving out the powerful.
