YSR Telangana Party founder Y S Sharmila and her party colleagues today organised a demonstration, held in Wanaparthy district, in support of the unemployed youth of Telangana.
The program at Tatiparti village of Gopalpeta mandal was organised to demand that the KCR government immediately take steps to fill all the vacancies in the state's government departments.
During the protest meet, Sharmila claimed that Telangana had the highest number of unemployed youth in the entire country.
Noting that she had begun to fight for the rights of the unemployed in the state even before the launch of her party and had sat on
a three-day-long hunger strike as part of this fight, she added that her party too had now devoted itself to the same cause, and vowed that it would keep fighting for the cause for as long as would be necessary.
The leader then stated that the YSRTP would organise similar protests every Tuesday until Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao "woke up" from his "deep slumber of apathy" and addressed the issue. Targeting the CM further, she alleged that KCR was taking no steps to fill the vacant posts despite the seriousness of the burgeoning problem of unemployment in the state.
Sharmila demanded that the state government fill all 1.9 lakh vacant posts in Telangana as soon as possible.
