TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today handed over a B Form and an A form to Pasunuri Dayakar to contest the Warangal by-election for the Lok Sabha seat of the constituency, at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said that Dayakar was a poor leader and had been active in the TRS since its inception, and appealed to his Party leaders and workers to strive for his victory.
"Dayakar is a poor leader, and we have to spend Party funds towards the election expenses. We will surely win the seat with collective efforts," he said.
KCR also announced amid applause, the extension of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme to girls of BCs. He also said that a related exercise was on to extend the scheme to all girls who were under the BPL category.
He claimed that Telangana was the No 1 welfare State in India after the steep hikes in pensions for widows, senior citizens and others, and the supply of fine rice to hostels, and had been adjudged so by a national TV channel.
And unlike the previous governments that had built houses sporadically for electoral gains, the TRS government would be constructing 60,000 double bedroom houses for the poor, he added.
He also pointed out that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had appreciated the Water Grid scheme under which Rs 45,000 crores would be spent to provide safe waters to the people.
