In view of the polling in Andhra Pradesh for the general elections on April 11, voters from Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana with voting rights in AP are heading for their native places, resulting in heavy traffic at many toll gates.
Roads leading to the Panthangi toll plaza in Choutuppal on the Vijayawada national highway particularly witnessed a heavy traffic jam on Wednesday morning with a queue stretching for kilometers, causing much inconvenience to the travellers.
There was a similar situation on the Jadcherla side too.
With most private buses hiking fares abnormally, a majority of the voters are traveling in their own vehicles, causing the increase in the vehicular traffic. Due to this, the passengers are getting stuck for hours at the toll gates.
There is very heavy rush at the railway stations and bus stations as well.
