"Vijayamma Wants Jagan Cases Closed"
In the backdrop of the CBI's raids on Jagan's assets, the Secretariat was rife with speculations that the CBI's teams would descend on the protected area.
Telugu Desam Party senior leader T Devender Goud on Sunday accused former Chief Minister YSR's widow and Pulivendula MLA Vijaya Lakshmi of trying to divert public attention from the CBI investigations into the alleged illegal wealth amassed by his son and Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy.
Commenting on the letter written by Vijayamma to the PM, describing the CBI raids as political vendetta, Devender Goud said Vijayamma was trying to convince the PM to free Jagan of all charges of corruption, as was done earlier in the case of PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana whose name figured in the Volkswagen scam, and former chief minister K Rosaiah who the ACB probed in the Maitrivanam land case.
If Congress president Sonia Gandhi had offered the chief ministers' post to Jagan immediately after YSR's death, the family wouldn't have spoken in this tone, he added.
Asking why Jagan was afraid of a CBI probe if he has not committed any offence, he said Jagan's image will improve among people if he comes clean from the allegations.
Goud also demanded a probe against former government advisor K V P Ramachandra rao, Congress president Sonia Gandhi's political advisor Ahmed Patel, Sakshi Group Vice-Chairman Vijaya Sai Reddy, YSR Congres Party official spokesman Ambati Rambabu and Vijayawada MP Lagadapati's brother Lagadapati Sridhar for their involvement in corruption during the stint of YSR.
