Chief Minister-designate of Andhra Pradesh and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) supremo Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today briefed the media on his meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Talking to mediapersons in Delhi after calling on Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and BJP national chief Amit Shah, Jagan said that his meeting with KCR was a courtesy call, and was cordial.
"We shared ideas on issues pertaining to the two Telugu States, and promised to cooperate with each other," he said.
Jagan also said that KCR had extended all possible support for special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
"We need to maintain cordial relations with the neighboring States, and will work together in the future," he said.
The CM-designate said that he would alone take oath of office on May 30, as CM, and that a full cabinet would be constituted in the 10 days after that.
Jagan also said that he would implement all the promises he had made during his poll campaign and padayatra.
Talking about his meeting with the PM, Jagan said that he had discussed with Modi about special category status to AP since the residual State needed funds and support from the Centre for its rapid growth and development.
He alleged that the TDP regime of Chandrababu Naidu was involved in plenty of corruption and scams in the past five years. He alleged that the TDP chief had used his benamis to purchase lands at low prices and had forcibly snatched the lands of people during land pooling. The party then gave such grabbed lands to its henchmen at low prices, he claimed. He said that inquiries would be ordered into the Polavaram project and all other projects where there was suspicion that the previous Chandrababu Naidu and Congress governments had indulged in corruption.
The YSRCP would bring about revolutionary changes in governance rooting out corruption and ensuring transparency and accountability, he vowed. He also said that the corruption charges against him were totally wrong.
