Taking a dig at YSR Congress Party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy today quipped that the former was nowhere to be seen after the announcement of the demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 currency bills by the Centre.
Speaking to the media, the minister said that Jaganmohan Reddy disappeared from the political scene as he was unable to change exchange the surplus money that he amassed during his father's tenure as Chief Minister of united AP.
This comes after YSRCP leaders accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of knowing that the two currency bills would be banned, prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement. Raghunath Reddy said that the YSR Congress supremo and his party leaders, who were themselves involved in large-scale corruption, had no moral right to criticize Naidu.
It was astonishing that Reddy did not weigh in on the issue yet, as he always had something to say about every other issue, the Minister added.
