VHR Condemns Centre Dictate On City's Law & Order
If the Governor were to be in charge of Telangana law & order, then what would the CM's and Home Minister's roles be, Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao wondered.
Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Saturday condemned the orders issued by the Centre asking the Telangana government to delegate the law & order powers in Greater Hyderabad to the Governor.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, VHR said that the implementation of the Centre's dictate would create two powers centres in Telangana.
If the Governor were to be in charge of law & order, then what would the roles of the Chief Minister and Home Minister be, he wondered.
VHR said that the Centre could intervene only in the cases of failure of the State government.
Instead of giving timely instructions, the Centre was trying to encroach upon the rights of the State government, he alleged. (INN)
