Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today expressed his grief and condoled the demise of veteran journalist V Hanmantha Rao (91).
In a message on Tuesday, the Chief Minister stated that Hanumantha Rao had contributed a lot to the nation through his articles. He was a role model for real journalism. It was a great loss to the Media fraternity, he said and extended his sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Telangana State Press Academy chairman Allam Narayana expressed his grief over the sad demise of prominent journalist and said that the departed journo had worked in various newspapers like Eenadu, Economic Times and so on in high positions. He recalled that Hanumatha Rao had established Data News Features in 1977, and the got Best Journalist Award in 1988, the Telugu University Pratibha Puraskaram award in 1999, and the Kasinadhuni Nageshwara Rao Panthulu award in 2000, and also a lifetime achievement award most recently.
Narayana said that Hanumantha Rao's demise was a huge loss to journalism. He had given top priority to ethics of journalism, he said and conveyed his heart-felt condolences to the the deceased journalist's kin.
