The campaigning for the prestigious Gajwel Assembly constituency, which has TRS president KCR himself contesting, saw plenty of fire and brimstone today too.
Telangana caretaker minister T Harish Rao ridiculed Congress leader Vanteru Pratap Reddy, who is KCR's main opponent for the seat in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, for making "false and baseless" charges against the TRS regime, and said that Reddy had become a good actor, surpassing even NTR.
Addressing an election campaign meeting at Siddipet, Rao took exception to the charges being leveled by Reddy against KCR. He said that Reddy was trying to get mileage by maligning the image of the TRS leadership, and that his comments had no substance whatsoever.
Sounding extremely optimistic about the TRS' chances in the constituency, Rao exuded confidence that his party would win a spectacular mandate due to its various welfare schemes and development programs. As an example, he said that Rs. 300 crores had been spent on building the underground drainage in Srinivas Nagar, and to provide pure drinking water through taps to every household in the Gajwel Assembly constituency.
He also added that a modern dhobi ghat had been built, and that 24-hour power had been provided to the farm sector.
Rao also listed out the other schemes implemented by the regime in the region - KCR kits, Rs 13,000 and Rs 12,000 in cash to women upon birth of a girl and a boy respectively, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, pensions, and besides residential schools for Muslims.
"The next government will be formed by the TRS and KCR will be the new Chief Minister", Rao said.
He called upon the people to turn up in huge numbers to KCR's meeting on December 5.
