Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today said that his party would honour the verdict given by the people of Telangana in the just-concluded Assembly elections, and added that it were not craving for power in the state.
Addressing mediapersons in Hyderabad, Bhatti, however, warned the TRS that the Congress would protest on behalf of the people of the state if the TRS failed to fulfill any of the poll promises made in its (TRS') manifesto.
He also asked KCR not to speak in an arrogant tone.
Bhatti said that the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader would be appointed by the Congress high command, and that the party would play an active role on the floor of the Telangana Assembly to ensure that the interests of the people of the state were placed above everything else.
Claiming that the setback the Congress suffered in the Telangana Assembly elections was temporary, he said that the party would prove its dominance in the upcoming local body and Lok Sabha elections.
Bhatti scored a hat-trick by retaining the Madhira Assembly constituency for the third consecutive term.
