Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Saturday demanded that the Congress High Command revive the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee immediately.
Speaking to media persons, VHR said that the Congress should reconstitute all the bodies of the TPCC, and instead of the High Command issuing directions from New Delhi, some senior leaders should stay in Hyderabad for a few days.
He said that the High Command should appoint office bearers based on the feedback taken from the Congress workers.
He added that the Congress should do an in-depth introspection of what went wrong in Telangana in the last elections - else, Telangana would become another Tamil Nadu for the party.
VHR lamented that several senior leaders including himself were not invited for the TPCC Executive Committee meeting held on July 17.
He also demanded the arrest of journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik for meeting Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed in Pakistan. He said Vaidik belongs to the RSS and Sangh Parivar, and is closely associated with Baba Ramdev.
He said that the RSS would have branded any Congress leader as a terrorist if such a leader had met Hafiz Saeed. However, it was silent on Vaidik\'s meeting with Hafiz Saeed. (INN)
