UoH Advances Admission Process
The candidates will be able to download the prospectus and submit the online application form from the university's website www.uohyd.ac.in from December 21 to January 21. The last date for submitting the online applications will be January 21, 2013.
The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has advanced its academic schedule to ensure that the entire admission process completes by the month of June.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, University's vice-chancellor Ramakrishna Ramaswamy and Controller Examination Dr Venkateshwara Rao said that while the admission process would begin this month itself. The candidates will be able to download the prospectus and submit the online application form from the university's website www.uohyd.ac.in from December 21 to January 21. The last date for submitting the online applications will be January 21, 2013. While the hall tickets could be downloaded from February 14, the entrance examinations will be held from February 21 to 26th, they said.
The vice-chancellor said that the classes for the next academic year would begin in June next year. From the ensuing academic year, the university has introduced two new courses of Master of Public Health in collaboration with Indian Institute of Public Health and five-year Integrated Masters programme in Earth and Space Sciences.
The entrance examinations for admission into different courses will be held at 10 centres across Andhra Pradesh and 33 centres across the country. The University of Hyderabad will not be a part of common entrance exam being held for the new universities in the country.
The vice-chancellor also informed that the university was taking measure to cut the expenditure. However, he said there were no cuts in research related projects, but the foreign visits of faculty members have been limited to once in three years. The university will get Rs 234 crore in the 11th Plan and the Centre has been requested for an increase in the allocation. Efforts are also being made to fill the 100 vacancies of faculty in the university, he said. (INN)
