396 students of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have received placement offers on campus.
This is the highest number of placements in the university's history.
221 students had been placed in 132 companies through campus placements before the lockdown earlier this year, and there was a temporary lull thereafter. But from May 2021 companies started conducting video interviews and online assessments as they could not physically visit the university campus, and the final tally for 2020-21 is 396 students placed in 213 companies.
Some of the employers are TCS, GE, One Convergence, Deloitte, Dr. Reddy's, Bridge i2i, Blaize, Techsophy, Phenom People, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Elastic Run, Azentio Software, UBS, Global Data, Jocata, Cargo Flash, Brane Enterprises, Accenture, Mercedes-Benz, Pega System, Cognizant, Team F1, Thought Works and Manthan School.
Prof Salman Abdul Moiz, the Professor-in-charge for placements, said, "It's gratifying to note that against the heavy odds such as the Covid-19 lockdowns, the UoH secured record placements for the 2020-21 batch. We are confident that the successfully placed students will continue to keep the flag of UoH flying high."
