Senior BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today evaded a direct answer to whether the TRS would join the Union government.
Responding to the question, the Union minister said that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were the right persons to say anything about the TRS joining the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
On the question of a financial package to Telangana, Dattatreya said that Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley would take a final call on that.
Meanwhile, Nizamabad MP and TRS leader K Kavitha said that the TRS would maintain equal distance from the ruling and Opposition Parties at the Centre.
She also clarified that the TRS would extend issue-based support to the NDA government.
"We will support all the programs of the Modi government which will benefit the people," she said.
Kavitha expressed hope that Telangana would get its due share in Railway Budget as well as the General Budget. The TRS would mount pressure on the Union government to fulfill the promises incorporated in the A P Re-organisation Act, she added.
