The Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), the Organisation for the Protection of Democratic Rights (OPDR), the Unity Centre of Communist Revolutionaries of India (Marxist-Leninist) (UCCRI) and other organizations have extended their support to the TSRTC workers who have been on strike for the last five days.
TUWJ President N Sekhar and General Secretary K Virahat Ali asked whether threatening the employees with deadlines, arrests and dismissal was in consonance with the democratic system. They said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao acting in such a harsh manner was unjustified.
OPDR Secretary D Vijayender Rao demanded that the State government immediately resolve the issues, and condemned the "oppressive" measures by it.
UCCRI (M-L) Secretary Vinod condemned the "dictatorial attitude" of the government and the Chief Minister, and appealed to the people to stand behind the RTC workers who he claimed were fighting for their genuine rights.
