The Telangana government is all set to raise issues pertaining to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014 in the upcoming Parliamentary session, especially the High Court bifurcation.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who is in the nation's capital for an inter-State council meeting with the Prime Minister, laid out the strategy needed to raise the issue during the forthcoming Parliament session being held to tackle the GST Bill and Child Labour Act.
Recently, at least 200 judges of Telangana went on a mass casual leave for 15 days as the agitation demanding the cancellation of the provisional list of judicial officers appointed to the Telangana judiciary took a serious turn. This prompted the Centre to ask the Chief Justice of India and the Telangana Governor to talk to the two Chief Ministers and to the High Court Chief Justice in order to reach an amicable solution.
Alleging that the Centre had distanced itself from the bifurcation issue and that the current number of judges in the courts across Telangana went against the A P Reorganization Act, KCR urged his MPs to vigorously demand the bifurcation of the court in the session.
They are also expected to raise issues including but not limited to the demarcation and allocation of water bodies between the two States, funds for development projects and funds for flagship programs such as Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and Telangana's Haritha Haram.
