Telangana BJP floor leader Dr K Lakshman today alleged that the ruling TRS was helping the MIM in the GHMC elections to be able to get the Mayor's post.
Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, Lakshman alleged that the TRS had surrendered to the MIM thoughtlessly.
Alleging that the TRS was conspiring unethically to win the GHMC elections, the BJP leader accused the former of wooing Opposition leaders by making false promises.
The BJP leader also demanded that the government make ward reservations on the basis of population. The government was keeping population figures a secret to reserve unscientifically so as to favour itself in the election, he said.
Earlier, a BJP delegation led by Lakshman called on the Governor and urged him not to give his consent if the TRS tried to issue an ordinance in connection with the GHMC elections. The delegation comprised Indrasena Reddy, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy and N V S S Prabhakar.
Separately, Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy alleged that the TRS government was trying to hand over prime lands in the city to the MIM.
At a function on Friday, Reddy said that the TRS was planning to give valuable lands like the Chanchalguda jail and the Malakpet Race Course lands to the MIM.
"Both Parties had a secret deal in this regard and forged a related tacit understanding about contesting the GHMC elections," he alleged.
Reddy said that though all it did was build some double bedroom houses in the Sanathnagar area, the TRS was acting as if it built houses all over the State.
