Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy today slammed the TRS for taking the help of the MIM in bagging the posts of GHMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Speaking to the media on the issue, he said that the victory of the TRS, the result of its "collaboration" with the MIM, was a classic example of the "cheap politics" practiced by the ruling party.
Reddy said that the BJP had, on numerous occasions, pointed out that the TRS and the MIM had a "secret alliance", and that the recent mayoral elections had only proved the BJP right.
The minister also faulted the two parties for not having brought any development to the state capital.
"The TRS has not been able to develop Hyderabad despite having been in power for two terms now. A corrupt GHMC body has only further hindered the capital's growth and development. The MIM, on the other hand, has been unable to eradicate the backwardness plaguing the Old City area. Now, the two parties will together indulge in corruption," he said.
Both the TRS and the MIM have attracted much backlash after two TRS corporators, Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and Srilatha Sobhan Reddy, were
elected as the GHMC Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively, allegedly with the support of the MIM.
Just yesterday, Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar also
pilloried the parties for its alleged "secret pact" with the MIM.
