Protesting against the rise in prices of essential commodities, and GST on food items and inflation, besides the rise in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders, the TRS MPs staged a protest on the premises of Parliament in New Delhi for the second consecutive day today.
Soon after the session began, the TRS MPs joined other Opposition members and raised slogans in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
With the Opposition parties insisting on a discussion on issues concerning the majority of the people, the proceedings were not held, and both the Houses were adjourned.
Raising slogans against the union government, the TRS MPs then staged their protests near the Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises.
Later, the MPs led by their Rajya Sabha leader K Keshava Rao and Lok Sabha floor leader Nama Nageswara Rao joined other Opposition leaders who were also staging protests against the BJP government.
Nageswara Rao criticised the Centre's policies "burdening the poor and the middle class", and strongly objected to the adjournment of both the Houses without discussing the public issues raised by the Opposition parties.
"The union government cannot ignore the plight of the people suffering from the floods in Telangana," he added.
