TRS MPs today continued their protest in Parliament on issues pertaining to paddy procurement from Telangana.
The MPs of Telangana's ruling party raised their voices in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha against the Centre, demanding clarity on the "pending" paddy procurement, and fixing of targets for the purchase of paddy stocks from the state.
The MPs raised slogans demanding that the BJP government come up with an MSP Act for farm produce, bring out a uniform farm procurement policy, and address all related issues.
They also demanded that the Centre initiate action to resolve the long-pending water disputes between AP and Telangana, and expressed opposition for the gazette notification on power projects.
Holding placards, they also stormed the well of the house in the Rajya Sabha, leading to the Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu instructing them to stop creating pandemonium.
Speaker Om Birla made similar entreaties in the Lok Sabha, to little avail.
K Keshava Rao and Nama Nageshwar Rao led the protests in the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha respectively.
The TRS MPs later also staged protests at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Parliament premises.
