TRS MPs today boycotted the first day of the Budget session of Parliament when President Ram Nath Kovind began his speech to the joint session of the two houses.
The MPs of Telangana's ruling party boycotted the speech to protest the Centre "denying support" for the state's development.
The MPs lamented that the TRS government had been demanding funds, projects and support for the state, but the Centre had not been extending any support.
The MPs walked out of Parliament as soon as the President began his speech.
They later showcased placards outside Parliament demanding that the Centre avoid its "partisan" attitude towards Telangana, and sought more funds and projects from the Centre, and that it keep the bifurcation promises.
The MPs are reported to have been instructed by their boss and CM K Chandrashekar Rao boycott the entire proceedings if the Centre failed to give adequate funds to the state in the budget session.
