Vanta Varpu On 19 June
The TRS is readying itself and the masses for its ambitious Vanta Varpu program - an event in which people will cook and eat food on the street as a form of protest for Telangana.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi is pulling out all stops to ensure that its 'Vanta Varpu" program planned for June 19 is a success.
Vanta Varpu - an event in which people will cook and eat food on the street in front of the Basava Tarakam Cancer Hospital - is aimed at demonstrating the protestors' support for a separate Telangana state. TRS party workers are on a door-to-door awareness campaign in, accompanied by kumkum, personally inviting residents to come and take part in the event.
"Through Vanta Varpu, the flames of the Telangana protest must reach Delhi," a TRS party worker boisterously announced.
TRS leaders accused the Congress and the TDP of trying to prevent the formation of a separate Telangana state, and said the Vanta Varpu program is meant to convey to the rest of the country the emotions of the people of Telangana.
The TRS plans to not just cook on the streets - a wide range of agitations have been chalked out, including rasta rokos, rail rokos, and picketing National Highways.
